Our trip to ATL

I am trying to catch up on the past week! Jason has been off of work, and I have not made time to update the blog at all...I apologize to all of you who have been racking your brains, wondering what in the world we've been up to! Don't call the police, we haven't fallen off the face of the Earth! :)

Last weekend was fun, but crazy! Jason's parents came up late Saturday night and we surprised them (as a Father's Day gift) with an overnight trip to Atlanta and a visit to the Georgia Aquarium with us. :)

We got up Sunday morning, packed the Tahoe and headed out. Lauren did ok in her new car seat (more about that in a later post). She took about a 45 minute nap along the way. When we got to Atlanta, we went to the Cumberland mall to look around and eat some lunch.

Lauren and Granna

Jason ordered Lauren a veggie plate from one of the places in the food court and she ate her weight in this cucumber tomato salad. It just goes to show...you never know what they'll eat (or not eat) until you offer it! :)

Anyway, after we left the mall, we checked into our hotel, which was really nice. It had the hugest jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and Lauren LOVED taking her bath in there!

We went to bed pretty early, so we'd have a good night's sleep for the aquarium the next day.

Lauren was very interested in all the fish, and she would point her little finger up at the tanks and just stare. There was one part of the aquarium, about half-way through, where was a tank from floor to ceiling, and you could sit and watch them feed the whale sharks and all of the other fish! Wow! It was amazing!!

We stopped for lunch inside the aquarium, and like any theme-park type place, it cost about $30 for just Jason and I to eat! Lauren loved her lunch, it was a Gerber graduates ravioli meal (I wasn't sure what they would have at the aquarium for her). She managed to get it everywhere, but she was quiet, and happy, and full...so that's all that matters!!

We finished with the aquarium and headed home. Jason suggested that we stop in Chattanooga and see if we could find a place for Lauren to play in some water (I think his mom and dad really wanted her to get to use her bathing suit that we had brought!)

Outside the Chattanooga Aquarium, there are these little swimming/splashing areas and we let Lauren walk around and get her feet wet. She was not as thrilled as we had hoped!

We made it home safely, and got Lauren fed and into bed! She was so exhausted!! It was a really fun trip!

The next morning, we got up and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Lauren is loving her some lemons these days! She was sporting her new dress from Granna and Pop-Pop and even left her bow in her hair for a few hours.

Then we went over to the Amish Farmer's Market in Delano. Jason's mom and dad got some beans and corn. We bought a little watermelon and some fresh-baked bread. Let me just say,

I. will. never. buy. produce. from. Walmart. again!!!!

I LOVED that their prices were so much better at the market and the produce looked better. I should have taken my camera, because it was so beautiful to see all the farm land and little houses out where they live.

I think I could be Amish. They are such peaceful people, and their lives are so simple. I wouldn't miss television or even mind working hard all the time.

But I don't know how they live without air conditioning! We may be in TN, but it has still been in the 90's all week! It's too hot!!

Great update. Love all the pictures. I agree, once you taste farm fresh produce it is hard to go to Walmart and buy produce!

I never go to Walmart and get produce anymore. It's not that great. Farmer's markets are much better!
