14 months old!

I haven't posted about Lauren's "month" birthdays since 11 months. But I want to continue to do it as a way to look back and see what she was doing at different ages. So here goes....

Sweet Lauren,

At 14 months, you are wearing size 18 months clothes and we just changed over to size 4 diapers. You are in a size 4 1/2- 5 shoe.

You drink from a sippy cup like a pro, but you still don't like milk very much. You will drink it with a little bit of chocolate syrup mixed in, but you are happiest with juice or water.

We still give you Poly Vi Sol drops 2x's a day because of low iron and you are now getting 1/2 tsp of children's Zyrtec after supper to help with your allergies.

You love baths, but are still not a fan of having your hair rinsed, because it gets water in your eyes. You like to splash, and try to eat all the bubbles and drink the water! (Eww...) You are never still when getting dressed or changing diapers, so mommy and daddy have learned to be fast!!

You sleep from about 7:30 or 8pm until 7:30 or 8am and still need a 1 hour - 1 & 1/2 hour morning nap. You sleep in the afternoons about 1& 1/2 - 2 hours. You must need that rest to recharge after all you do during the day! You are always on the move!

You LOVE to be outside, and protest (loudly) whenever we take you in to eat a meal or get ready for bed! You like to walk around the yard and driveway, always carrying something with you. (like a bucket or toy) You still don't love to "swim" in the little pool, but you like splashing in your water table!

Your favorite "toys" right now are not really "toys" at all. You like anything electronic that you are not supposed to have....remote controls, phones, etc. You also LOVE books. You will sit and listen to every book in our basket at one time as long as you can turn the pages! We have read for 30 minutes or more and you don't seem to mind one bit!

You are shy and often scared around new things or people. You have started going to the bigger nursery room during church and you are usually the only girl! But you love to play with the blocks and cars like the boys! If you are holding a baby doll or toy and we say "love it", you will hold it to your chest and squeeze it tight in a hug. It's so cute!!

You LOVE your paci (even though they stay in your crib and you only get them when you go to sleep). Whenever we take you out of your crib, you have one in your mouth and try to gather a few more in your hands to take with you! If you see a paci that has been dropped under something, you will get it and pop it in your mouth and grin like you are so sneaky!

You are a really good eater! We are pretty sure that you must have a hollow leg, though! You like pretty much anything that we give you, except peas, avocado or blue berries. You eat chicken, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, turkey sticks, ham, spaghetti with meatballs, ravioli, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, carrots (cooked), green beans, pinto beans, pickles, bananas, peaches, oranges, mandarin oranges, pears, grapes (green and purple), strawberries, apple sauce, pineapple, watermelon, sliced cheese, yogurt, and ice cream!

You love to snack on gold fish, vanilla wafers, Sunkist fruit snacks (thanks Nana!), teddy grahams (you prefer the chocolate ones!!), graham crackers, animal crackers and saltines. You have almost 7 teeth (4 on top, 2 & 1/2 on the bottom!)

You say a few words, but do a lot of pointing, grunting and whining. You say dada, mama, bye-bye, uh-oh, baby, diaper, and you say "arf, arf" when you see/hear a dog that is barking! You also babble almost non-stop. And then you laugh while you are talking. We wonder "what is so funny?" You will also blow kisses (like Granna taught you).

You are in your new "big girl" car seat now and are front facing. I think you like it better. You seem more content to ride around town now that you can see out of the window!

You LOVE music, and dance whenever you hear music, either on tv or at a store on the radio. It's like the rhythm inside you just makes your shake your little bootie to the beat! Sometimes in the car, I will see you kicking your legs or shaking your shoulders back and forth in the car seat to the music on the radio!!

You are walking so fast now, and are even starting to run a little! You like to go places where there are lots of people to watch, as long as they don't come over and talk to you...then you get a little nervous! I took you to the indoor play area at the Knoxville mall, but you hung onto my leg the whole time!!

You are growing so fast and we can't believe it! You are so sweet and melt your mommy and daddy's heart! You definitely have daddy wrapped around your little finger already!

You are so precious to us, Lauren! We love you more each day!!

:-) I think Lauren is giving Ryland a run for her money in the fun category!
