FACE!!)
Lauren sleeps 11-12 hours at night (from 7:30 pm until 7am usually) and takes an hour-long morning nap and a 2-3 hour afternoon nap. She crawls super-fast and pulls up on everything. She has figured out how to go from sitting to laying down on her stomach so that she can reach under things (like her crib or our bed or the coffee table). She reaches for the long-lost paci or toy and then is back on her way, never slowing down! She cruises along the coffee table and the air mattress that is in her room. She also likes to climb onto the air mattress and our very steep stairs! Toys hold no interest for her, but she does like to tear up paper towels!
Lauren sticks out her pointer finger now and presses buttons with it. This includes the buttons on the phone and remote and DVD player. Needless to say, she hears the word "no" a lot. She LOVES all things electronic, especially the telephone. She knows which button puts it on speaker phone and that is always the first thing she does if she can get her hands on it. (I guess she likes the sound of the dial tone?)
Lauren is eating anything and everything. She still will eat some baby food, but she prefers table foods. She likes Gerber "puffs" and apple dices; cheerios, crackers, vanilla wafers and letter cookies, tortilla and mashed potatoes, cooked carrots and green beans, bananas, strawberries, and she LOVES yogurt and cheese. (this may explain how she gained 1 and 1/2 pounds in one month!)
She still is nursing 2-3 times per day and we are hoping to master the sippy cup (helpful for weaning!) soon! She will NOT be still when we are changing her, so I have mastered the art of putting diapers and clothes on her while she is moving (and sometimes crawling!!)
She loves to take baths and to splash in the tub! She also loves to be outside!! She is still not very interested in the TV, but she does love MUSIC!! If she hears any type of music (including singing or tapping), she immediately will start wiggling and "dancing" (aka shaking her booty around like a hula hoop)
She says "dada" and started saying "mama" yesterday. I don't really think she knows what either of these mean, but she says them both overandoverandoverandover!! Her favorite games are peek-a-boo and "I'm going to get her" in which Jason or I say: "I'm going to get her" and she crawls crazy fast across the floor, laughing, so you will "chase" her.
She is such a sweet girl and we cannot believe how fast she is growing!! She has her first ear infection right now, but even for a little sickly girl, she's awfully cute!

Oh Sarah, thanks so much for posting this! It's so fun to read about life with Lauren. I hope that she and Cady will meet sometime. I'm sure they would get along great (especially with their love of cell phones and buttons!). Also, it relieves me to hear what other babies Cady's age are doing - especially regarding breastfeeding. Cady's recently stopped drinking as much milk and I've been worried about it. I thought that maybe my supply's been low because I'm sick this week, but I guess I should face the fact that she's just getting bigger (which is what Chad tried to tell me!). Thanks again for giving us this snapshot into your life!
Oh, and Cady's daddy loves to "get her" too; isn't it fun to watch Daddys be silly with their daughters?
It sounds like all three of our daughters are in about the same stages! I love to hear about Lauren and what all she is doing. We have the same issues of bedhead in the morning! I don't know what to do about her hair! I'm not sure about the sippy cup war...I'm not sure who is going to win! LOL
We have to all get together sometime! I would love to see you, and I would love to see how Lauren and Emma get along!
No one can make Emma laugh like her daddy. I think it's just one of those things!
