Around 9am this morning, Lauren and I defied fate and attempted to go for a walk before it rained, thinking we wouldn't be able to later on in the day, according to our weather man. (wouldn't you know it's 4pm and I have yet to see a raindrop!)
Anyway, while we were out walking, apparently there was a wave of panic induced by an email that I DID NOT SEND, people! How is this possible, you ask?
Apparently, my loving SIL Kelli (who reads my blog from time to time, yeah!) opened her email account this morning to find an email from "me" claiming that I was in the UK and needed her to send me $1500. Ha!
Well, she's a sensible girl and knew that the email had to be a hoax of some kind. She promptly called to inform me of this, but unfortunately, I was out walking with L and had forgotten to bring my cell.
So, Kelli casually mentioned this to her mom, my MIL and of course, this is where pandemonium broke loose. Mrs. Brenda TRIED calling Jason at work, on his cell, she called my house about 6 times in a row, and came just short of calling the police, FBI, Secret Service, National Guard, (you get the idea).
*Note to self: make sure that I take my cell phone EVERYWHERE from now on~ just in case!! *
I think everyone was not so much freaking out at the actual idea that I was in the UK and needed $1500, it was just that I guess they realized that my email account must have been hacked into and that never is a good thing!
So, if you get an email such as this from me, please be aware that it is a scam of some kind and that Jason and I are working to fix this ASAP (meaning I have been virus scanning my computer with McAfee all day!) I tried to log into yahoo and just close the account, but it won't let me even do that! Not a good sign. *sigh*
Technology sucks. Sometimes.
On another note, if anyone just feels strongly compelled to send me $1500....go for it! :)
