2:45 pm and all is quiet....

It's 2:45 on a Saturday afternoon and my house is completely silent....ahhhh.... (well, except for the chirping birds and rolling waves on Lauren's CD player!) Lauren is napping, Jason is napping, and I am busy. (and can be really productive when it's quiet!)

I am going through stuff that I brought home for school to decide what to keep, sell, give away, and trash. I am listing some items on eBay, catching up on emails and of course, posting this blog. I'm nothing if not a multi-tasker! :)

This evening, my mom is coming over for a Mother's Day meal. Since we go to church 30 minutes away, we wanted to celebrate tonight with my mom so we wouldn't have to rush after church tomorrow with lunch. We are having oven baked chicken, sauteed veggies(squash and zucchini) rice with okra, corn and tomatoes and lemonade. And I just put the finishing touches on a fruit pizza for dessert! Yummy...and fairly healthy. I "tweaked" the fruit pizza recipe and used fat free cream cheese and cool whip...so that cuts some calories I guess.

Why am I cooking for the Mother's Day meal? Well, because I love to cook and never get to anymore and because Jason has agreed to keep Lauren busy so I can get the meal ready and because I love my mom and wanted to do something special for her. So there. Maybe Jason will cook dinner (or breakfast in bed... hint, hint) for me tomorrow! :)

I'll post some pics later of our meal! I'm so excited about celebrating my first "real" Mother's Day this year. (Lauren was still in the oven at this time last year!) We have a new pastor and he has preaching the last 2 weeks on parenting and I can't wait to hear what he has to say to the mommies tomorrow! :)
