watching the hills on DVR....

So as some of your may have guessed from my previous post, Jason is in South Carolina on a business trip. He'll be back sometime late Friday night.

(or you were wondering if my "someone is SC loves me" was a tribute to my Internet boyfriend who lives in Charleston! HA!!)

As much as I usually complain about Jason taking all the covers, snoring, and hogging our (king sized!) bed, I CANNOT sleep while he is away! I am always convinced that if someone was ever going to break into my house and attack us, it will happen while Jason isn't home. (stupid, I know) So I hear every little bump and creak and knock all night long and usually don't get any sleep!!

On the up side, while Jason is gone (and after Lauren is put to bed), I am free to scrapbook or watch "girly" movies or tv shows; such as The Hills, ahem. (not that I would ever watch mindless teenage reality drama such as this!)

And, I can eat what I like, (that Jason doesn't) such as a yummy mixed greens salad with goat cheese, glazed walnuts, dried cranberries and raspberry vinaigrette, (thanks to my SIL, Kelli for making this at Easter and reminding me of how GOOD it is!!)

Jason would never eat this type of salad. He likes iceberg lettuce, covered in cheddar cheese, ham, turkey, bacon and croutons and smothered in Ranch dressing! (kind of defeats the purpose of a salad, huh?)

I also bought a single-serving blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream (Jason also doesn't eat desserts that involve fruit) for dessert! Mmmmm....more for me!! :)

So, here's to a sleepless night of salad, cobbler, scrapbooking and girly tv!

But~I miss my hubby!

What do you do when your husband is away overnight?

Yay for watching girly shows/movies and eating what our hubbies don't like! Jeremy has drill this weekend and will be gone tonight through Sunday. I try to be good and clean after Emma goes to bed when he is not home, but sometimes that doesn't work. While he was away for a week earlier this year, I set up "Scrapbook Central" on our kitchen table and didn't pack it up until the day he was supposed to come home! I plan on watching all the sad, sappy movies that he doesn't watch, catching up on the few series that I have DVR'd that he won't watch (Castle, Harper's Island...) So here's to making the most of our hubbies being gone! (I am with you on the hearing every creak of the house...that's why we have an alarm system!)

I love watching The Hills, although I wouldn't admit it to just anyone. I am going to have to check out this single serving blackberry cobbler, it sounds like a single girls dream.
