Yesterday was such a great day! It was sunny and in the 70's all day long! (A nice break from all the clouds and rain!) I mean, really, I can not remember it ever raining this much here before. Since March, it seems like it has rained every stinkin' day!! (This is not helpful for my plan to walk every day with Lauren for some much needed exercise and fresh air!!)
Anyway, Lauren and I did go for a walk after her morning nap. And I mean - we walked, and walked and walked!! (well, I walked, she rode in the stroller and waved to everyone she saw and all the trees and flowers!) Then we got home and had lunch and then she took her afternoon nap.
After she got up, we played in her room (she is hilarious, trying to copy everything you say these days!) and read her books like 100 times. She would rather have someone read to her, than play with her toys. Sounds like her mama! :) I was telling her a cow says "moo" and she would say "mmmm" We read about thunder and I told her it says "boom, boom, boom" so she would copy me and say "boo boo". It was so funny!
Then we had supper; and she attempted to feed herself applesauce with a toddler spoon that I bought. Ha! She quickly decided that feeding herself the applesauce with her fingers was quicker! (shoulda taken a picture....she was so happy!)
I was going to give her a bath, but the weather started to get bad. It started to thunder, only Lauren wasn't liking it! She was scared to death! It was literally the loudest thunder I have ever heard and it was shaking the house big time! I kept telling her "it's ok, it's ok."
I had the weather channel on and they were calling for flash flooding and severe thunder storms in our area. Lauren kept climbing up my legs for me to hold her, so I picked her up and she put her little head down on my shoulder and fell asleep. It was so sweet!
Then the power went out.
So I just sat there, on the couch, in the almost-dark, with my sleeping baby. It was pretty nice. I finally carried her upstairs to her crib and then waited for the power to come back on. An hour and a half later...it did!
And Jason arrived home safely from South Carolina around 9:30. He was tired from all the driving, so we went to sleep early.
Glad to have my hubby back home and thankful for power! :)
