Whew! Usually the weekends are a time to relax...Jason is home, so I get an extra set of hands (and eyes) to help with Lauren. PLUS, Jason usually lets me sleep in on Saturday mornings, while he gets up and feeds Lauren.
Not this weekend.
Friday night, we were up until after midnight getting everything set up and priced for our yard sale. Saturday morning we woke up around 6:30 to get things set out before the first person showed up. We were moving tables out of the garage by 7:30 and people were already there!! (The sale was supposed to start at 8!!)
Anyway, there were LOTS of people there for the first hour or so, including one woman who wanted to buy ALL of my children's books and teacher's books, so she kept asking me how much I wanted for ALL of them together...only I hadn't thought about how much I wanted for all of them together!! PLUS, Jason was upstairs taking care of Lauren and there were like 10 other people there.
In all of this confusion, that lady got a SERIOUS deal on those books...because I really didn't have time to think about it. So I hope she's happy. I really HATE when people do that at yard sales. I mean, I was glad that she bought them all, but she really got the better end of the deal.
Oh well.
We had people come until about noon, and then it started looking like it was going to rain, so we packed it up. We made exactly enough for me to buy Lauren's big girl car seat, which is an answer to my prayer! So now I just need to chose the fabric I want for it, and order it on Monday!
Saturday night was "date night." Jason grilled hamburgers for supper, and we watched "Changeling"...which was disturbing. But we had strawberry cheesecake for dessert, so that made up for Jason's movie choice! :)
Then Sunday, we got up, got ready and left to go to Pigeon Forge to shop for some clothes for our trip to Florida at the end of the month. We both wanted to get some shorts, and Pigeon Forge has a great Casual Male outlet so Jason can find some things made to fit him (he's 6' 7").
We timed it to leave just as Lauren would be taking her morning nap. Did she take a nap on the way? Of course not!!
She fell asleep 15 minutes before we got there. Thank goodness she's still in her infant car seat! We managed to get her in the stroller without waking her up and went shopping.
Of course, she woke up about 20 minutes later, grouchy as could be!
While Jason shopped, I took Lauren to the Carter's outlet and she got a new swim suit! It is a 2 piece (but not a bikini!!!) so it will be easy to change her diaper!
We left that store and went to eat lunch. We chose a buffet so that Lauren could have some choices...HA! She ate like her regular old "garbage disposal" self! She ate about 12 cherry tomatoes, carrots, green beans, squash, zucchini, macaroni and cheese, strawberries and some bread. She was happy as could be sitting in a booster seat next to Jason!
BUT, she kept putting her "grubby hands" (as Jason referred to them) all over her daddy's shirt sleeve while she was eating! It was sorta funny. And now he knows how I feel. :)
Then I got to look for clothes. I really just wanted a pair of black shorts and a couple of solid colored t-shirts. (I'm a boring dresser, I know!) I ended up with black shorts, a skirt, a dress, and 2 solid colored shirts for LESS than $100. I thought that was really good! And they were all really cute and comfy! I'm excited to wear them in Florida!
We left Pigeon Forge at 3:30. LAUREN HAD NOT TAKEN AN AFTERNOON NAP AT THIS POINT!! She screamed and tried to escape from her car seat for over an hour.
She fell asleep in Knoxville (45 minutes from our house!!)
Needless to say, she was one tired little girl tonight. When we got home, she ate supper and I gave her a bath and put her to bed!
When I went up to check on her, this is what I found.....

Jason and I are tired, too! We are going to watch "The Next Food Network Star" and go to bed!!
Maybe next weekend will be more relaxing...but, I think the grandparents are coming...so maybe not! :)

Sounds like a busy weekend. Glad you made enough on that garage sale for the car seat. I just bought one for my nephew, I did not realize how expensive those things are!
What kind of car seat are you getting?
