I've created a monster!!

Lauren has started loving yogurt again lately. We started giving her Yo Baby organic yogurt around 10 or 11 months and she gobbled it up. (I guess she thought it was much better than baby food, ha!) And sometimes we even mixed in some cereal, because it was really runny. Then I guess she got "burnt out" on it and wouldn't eat it any more right around the time she turned 1.

So we took a break. When Jason went to the store about a week ago, I told him to grab some yogurt for Lauren since she doesn't prefer milk, and I want to make sure she's getting her calcium! He found some without artificial sweeteners that was actually pretty healthy (minus the high-fructose corn syrup!)
She loved it!!

And then one day when I was hurrying to make dinner for Jason and me, I just plopped the yogurt down on her tray with a toddler spoon and her plate. She knew just what to do!
She made a HUGE mess!! But she was soooo proud of herself, and every time she'd manage to get the tiniest bite into her mouth (after the rest dripped down her bib and onto her high chair tray) she'd grin and say "yummmm....!!"

So now, when I try to feed the yogurt to her, she wants to do it herself.
Only she can't.
Because she isn't quite coordinated enough to use a spoon. So she gets mad and won't open her mouth for me to feed her.

But I should have never let her have the spoon that first time!! Now she thinks she should feed herself.
I think I've created a monster!! :)
But she's a cute, yogurt-covered monster!! :)
