Lauren's Fashion Friday 7/24/09

For any mothers of little girls, I don't doubt that you know all about pillowcase dresses. Most people either seem to love them or hate them, there doesn't seem to be any grey area. Lauren has several, because I, personally, love them!

Pillow case dresses are comfy and cool (when made of light material) and oh-so cute! The BEST thing about pillowcase dresses is: they can be worn like, forever. They are sooo versatile!!

Because once your daughter outgrows them height-wise, you just pair them with matching bloomers or leggings and they can be a top. When made of thicker material, they can be worn over a long-sleeved top with tights as a jumper. The possibilities are endless. :) PLUS, there are plethoras of fabric out there just waiting for someone who can actually sew, unlike myself!!

Jason, however, is a member of the enemy camp when it comes to pillow case dresses. He doesn't prefer them on Lauren. (that sounded nicer than hates, don't you think?) In fact, the first time I put one on Lauren for him to see, he told me she "looked like a little homeless child wearing a potato sack" and "wasn't there something else that she could wear?"

Point taken.

But that didn't change my love of them!

So, for your viewing pleasure, here is Lauren modeling her pillowcase dresses. (a few of them are the next size up, so she may slightly resemble "a little homeless child wearing a potato sack")

And, I was VERY impractical and, yes, had them all monogrammed with her name or initials.

Oh, well. I think you get to be impractical with your first child.

If I have any other children, they probably will have to wear potato sacks. :)

She has one more that is white eyelet, but we are having her pictures made in it, and I want it to STAY white until then! :)
Happy Friday, Everyone!!

These are so cute. I love the red and yellow one. I think she looks precious in them!

I LOVE THEM! we only have one that's pretty thin so I'd like more.

Jeremy used to say the same thing about Ryland's baby legs. he "didn't perfer them on her," but now that she won't take them off, he'll admit the cuteness factor.
