playing catch-up

Whew!  We have been going non-stop the last few weeks!!  I KNOW that I have been busy, when the blog hasn't been updated in this long!

Anyway- here's a summary of what's been going on....

Jason has accepted a job transfer to Waupaca in Tell City, Indiana.  We are so grateful that he had several opportunities for jobs, and this is the one that we think best fits our family.

We will be moving whenever we get a more firm timeline for the closing of his plant here.  It makes it really hard to look for a rental when we don't know for sure when we might move in!! But, we are praying that God will provide something for us at the right time.

We are planning to live in Owensboro, KY- which is about 20 minutes away from Jason's new job.  It is a bigger city than where he will work and has more to do.

On the other hand, all the apartments that we have looked at online look so little!  (Now, don't go thinking that we live in a huge house or anything...but the apartments are LITERALLY HALF THE SQUARE FOOTAGE of where we live now!!)

Which makes for some serious "cabine fever" with a toddler inside.  PLUS- last time I checked- apartments don't have yards.  And a day inside with Lauren is a LONG day!! :)  So, we are thinking about looking at houses to rent.   Maybe.   We really don't know!  We are planning a trip up to KY closer to Thanksgiving to check out the area and housing situation!

Now, what has Lauren been up to??  As you may remember, Lauren rode the carousel at the Knoxville Zoo recently and screamed the whole time.

Well, we were at the mall last Sunday and Jason thought we should out Lauren on this little ride....  She looks like she's having fun, right?!

NOT FOR LONG!!

But, we did leave her on it the whole time (like 2 minutes), and she really didn't get too hysterical.

Also- the bottom of her hair in the back is starting to curl a little.  It's so cute and totally reminds me of pictures of me at this age. Can you see the little curls on the left side in this pic?

Tuesday, we met some other MOPS moms to make pumpkin rolls for their bake sale at Pumpkin Town this weekend.  We ended up making 31 rolls all together!  It was really fun to spend time with the other moms, and Lauren got to play in the gym right by the kitchen with the other kids.

Heather, Elizabeth and Julia hard at work!

the pupkin roll mixture....doesn't look like much now...
but they are sooo good when they're finished!!

Here are all the kids having a snack!! :)

I guess running around in the gym for 3 hours wore Lauren out, because she fell asleep on the 5 minute car-ride home!!

Yesterday, we bought stuff to bake some more items for the bakesale this weekend. (Really, I just wanted to bake some cookies and this was a good way to keep Jason and me from eating 3 dozen!!)

I made "Harvest Pumpkin Cookies", "Peanut Butter-Cup Cupcakes" and "no-bake cookies" or "cow patties" as they are sometimes called! :)  I will have to post the recipes next time!  Everything turned out yummy!  (Lauren and I were Quality Control!)

I have also noticed that Lauren has several more teeth now (in the back).  I noticed this when she bumped her head on the shopping cart at Walmart and was screaming and I could see all the way into the back of her mouth!

We had to go her doctor today because her snot is green and wasn't going away (sorry if that's TMI for some of you- you must not have kids!)

Her pediatrician said she had a double ear infection- probably caused by the runny nose- he said it blocks the eustacian tubes and then the can get infected.  So he gave us a prescription for a mild antibiotic and decongestant.

The good news is that Lauren has not been sick since April, so hopefully this will be a trend.

Jason has an upper respiratory infection and is also on an antibiotic right now.  I think I'm moving out! :)

you only notice that your daughter has more teeth when she bumps her head on a walmart cart and is screaming in pain...gives me hope for surviving motherhood.

Susie, that is the only way that I could see into the back of her mouth! She won't let me stick my finger in there to "feel around" for more teeth! You'll understand soon! :)
