We have problems :)

We are having some "problems" at my house right now.

Problem #1.  Lauren is ADDICTED to television.

It all started off innocent enough.  I would turn the tv on Nick Jr. once in a while after breakfast, while I cleaned the kitchen and loaded the dishwasher.  Dora the Explorer was on and Lauren seemed to like it.

Fastforward a few months.

Saying that Lauren "likes" Dora would be an understatement!  She loves DORA!!

Like, LOVES Dora!  We have a Dora DVD (from my teaching days) and she will literally watch it over and over and over!

She also LOVES her Praise Baby DVD that I found at consignment.  It is full of images of babies, fish, balls, bubbles, flowers and animals.  It might as well have been made for my child.

She will bring us the DVD's so that we can play them for her now.

She also will bring you the remote control if the tv is not on; or if she does not approve of the program on the tv (heaven forbid I should want to watch the Food Network for 5 minutes!)

On rainy days like today, all she wants to do is watch tv!  So, I closed the entertainment center cabinet, thinking "out of sight, out of mind."

Not so much.

She stood in front of it and "knocked" on it and pointed and fussed.  She may not be able to "say" much, but she can communicat just fine! :)

Problem #2 We are having a slight fashion crisis.

See, Lauren is officially "between" sizes.  She is like an 18 1/2 months.  Or whatever is between 18 and 24 months sizes...because there are NO CLOTHES that are made BETWEEN those sizes!!

Almost all of her fall/winter clothes are 24 months, with a few that are 18 months.

Here's the problem- the 18 months are too small and the 24 months are too big.  (like, the pants are too long and the tops kinda "swallow" her).

We have a FEW things from Old Navy, Gap, Gymboree and those people are SMART!! They make their clothes to be size 18-24 months and they fit just fine.  But I REFUSE to go buy a bunch more clothes in those sizes, because she is about to fit into her 24 months stuff- she just needs to grow 1 more inch or so!

We put the bigger size pants on her and roll the bottoms, but that looks kinda silly.  The 18 months pants are high waters.  It's ridiculous!

So, my sweet girl has about 5 or 6 outfits that fit her right now (not including dresses).  Maybe that is the solution.  I should just put her in a dress with tights every day.  Hmmm...

Anyway, here she is in one of her outfits that fits (barely)

Jason hates this and says she looks like a "hippy".   But HEY, IT FITS!!

Come on Lauren, GROW!  You have WAY TOO MANY cute clothes just waiting in your closet!

Problem #3 Lauren has some seriously gross diapers right now.

WARNING: If you are not a mommy, do not read any further, this will be way T.M.I.!!!

Because Lauren is on an antibiotic for her ear infection, all her poopy diapers are diarrhea-like.  Seriously.  Yuck.

I mean, they don't "stink".  They are just really messy.

DESPITE the fact that we are giving her Probiotics, she is still having diarrhea due to the antibiotics.  So, the cloth diapers have been "shelved" for now and we are back to disposables until this passes.  The problem is: those Pampers leak!  They do not contain the blow outs.  I feel like I have an infant with breastfed poop again!

This morning I glanced over at Lauren, innocently doing a puzzle on the coffee table, and there were 2 big spots on the back of her pajama pants.  NO!

I rushed her upstairs to strip her down and it wasn't pretty.

Then, I got her all cleaned up dressed(in one of her few outfits that fit!), put her pants in cold water to soak and an hour later, she did it again!

Please, please, go away, yucky poop!  I don't like you.

So, those are our "problems" right now.

Obviously, they could be much worse.  Of course, I am thankful for what I do have and am not trying to complain!

I just wanted to vent a little.

I feel better, now.  Thanks! :)
