DON'T WORRY....THERE IS A LOT OF TYPING...BUT SCROLL DOWN FOR PICS OF LAUREN!! :)
Since we have been snowed in since Wednesday night, we decided that we had to escape from our 4 walls today!
So, we all put on warm clothes and headed to the Owensboro Mall. It was a little mall, but there is plenty of room for Lauren to walk around in a temperature-controlled environment. I see many visits to this mall in our future! (Maybe Lauren and I could take our walks here a few times a week, since we live in the Frozen Tundra and won't be hitting the sidewalks anytime soon!)
At the mall, we all shared a treat of cookie dough ice cream. So much for New Year's Resolutions! :) I think that we are going to get serious about eating better when Jason starts his new job on Monday. Right now, we are all off schedule big time. Jason has been home all day everyday for 3 weeks and Lauren is taking naps at weird times. Plus, we are adjusting to the time difference here (we were on eastern time, now central) We all feel sort of mixed up and out of wack- so to speak.
Today, Lauren started getting really whiny around 11:00! (she wakes up about 8:30) I asked her if she needed a night-night (nap) and she nodded her head "yes" and ran into her room. She stands in front of her cirb, gets up on her tippy toes and says "up, up."
My child is so strange. She does this for every nap and every night at bedtime. It's like she knows her little body needs the rest so she can recharge and get back to going non-stop when she wakes up. I just pray she will always sleep like this! (Secretely, I think she is making up for ALL (and I mean like 9 months!) of the sleepless nights when she was a baby. She used to wake up and cry for no reason ALL. NIGHT. LONG. Sometimes every 15-30 minutes! We tried EVERYTHING we could think of to get her to sleep better and then just decided that she would sleep when she was ready. Lord, I still don't think I've recovered! :) But now she is the best sleeper! (and has been since she was about 9 months old!)
Susie has been telling me that little 3 week old Kerrigan sleeps for like 4-5 hours at a time. Goodness Mercy, Lauren didn't do that until she was like 5 months old. Seriously!
Anyway, besides going to the mall, we passed the time today by brushing our teeth at the sink (Lauren's latest obsession) and I also let her color with (washable) markers for the first time. She LOVED it! And she colored for about 10 minutes. Wow!
please ignore the mess...I am not finished organizing her bathroom!
I love her little profile!
I think she looks so grown up in this picture...and I don't like it!!
Little Picasso
She wanted to use every color..one at a time...she's a little OCD like that!
Lauren grabbed my camera and took this self-portrait...of her foot! :)
Supper tonight was homemade pizza- no recipe, I just used Pillsbury canned thin crust dough, jarred pizza sauce (that I "tweaked" with a little Italian seasoning and house seasoning), mozarella cheese, onions, green peppers and mushrooms with canndian bacon. Obviously, some of us like banana peppers on our pizza...and some do not! :)
It was yummy! (and cheaper than ordering in).
Tomorrow we are hoping to try out a new church and then do a little shopping for some things we need for the apartment...that is, if the weather cooperates!
Gotta go cut out the rest of my coupons, read my Bible chapters for the day and head to bed!
