Sunday fun

Yesterday, the snow STILL hadn't melted, but we needed to get out of the aparment! So, we dressed Lauren in about 3 layers (including thermals) and went to Cheddar's for lunch and then to check out our local Kroger's grocery store, since we've never shopped at one before (they double coupons .50 and less!)

I don't know what it is about Owensboro, but apparently there are no friendly people here. Maybe all the friendly people live somewhere nearby? Or maybe this town just needs a good dose of Southern Hospitality! We couldn't believe how rude and unfriendly people seem! No one says "excuse me" when they are passing you in the grocery store, no one says "yes/no ma'm/sir" to you at restraunts, it's pretty sad. Maybe we are just used to that, and assume it's the norm, but we are feeling kind of lonely up here with all these unfriendly folks!

Ok, off my soapbox and onto more fun things:

Since I have had to enforce "mandatory tv turn-of" for Lauren and Jason...we have been getting creative with things to do while "snowed in."

First, while Lauren was brushing her teeth on her little stool in the bathroom, (for like 30 minutes) I decided to try out some "piggies" on the mullett on the back of her head! :) (Suz- business in the front, party in the back, right??! HA!)

What do you think?

obviously, I need to work on my "parting" skills!

(which I realized don't match, but they were the first 2 I grabbed- just wanted to see how it looked)

Lauren was pretty pleased with the overall effect :)
(and yes, she is drinking water out of a medicine dosage cup...she's obsessed with playing in the sink!)

Onto the next "activity"..... Lauren grabbed the bag of clothes pins that I use to hang her cloth diapers and dumped them all over the floor.

Then, she and Jason proceeded to "play" with them for 45 minutes. Jason clipped them all over her clothes and she looked hilarious!

She just kept pulling them off as fast as he could clip them to her clothes!

Then, Lauren grabbed her most favorite toy, a ball. Jason proceeded to "hide" it under his shirt...and then she wanted it under her shirt, too.

I think she may have 2 under her shirt in this pic, "Dolly Parton style"

And that ends our day of fun. Lauren is coughing and not getting much rest, so we may be visiting a new pediatrician tomorrow. (yuck)

Happy Monday, everyone!
