This is my $0.19 mustard.
It was on sale at Kroger for $0.99, I had a $0.40 off coupon from the Sunday paper (which Kroger doubled) for a savings of $0.80. So, $0.99 - $0.80 = $0.19 mustard! (too bad I didn't have more than one of those coupons!)
So, that was about a month ago. This week, I worked hard to combine my coupons with the sale prices and these are the deals that I got....
Kroger is having this "March to Savings" event where if you buy 8 of any of their specially marked items (you can mix and match!!), they will take $4.00 off your total. And this multiplies. If you buy 16 total of the promotion items (mixed and matched), you will save $8.00, etc.
One of those items was Kraft cheese (shredded or block) and another was Mott's Apple Juice. I'm trying to think of some of the others...I know I bought Ritz Crackers, Annie's mac-n-cheese (for Lauren) and Vitamin Water (for Jason), among other things. Obviously you can view the weekly add on their website!
Anyway, with the $8 that I saved, total...this is what my prices ended up being:
$0.99 each for the Mott's Apple Juice (64 oz.- the big "jug" that is a good deal at 2/$4.00 usually!)
Vitamin water $0.75 each- usually $1.00 a bottle.
Annie's mac-n-cheese $0.49 a box!! (usually over $1.00 each!)
Also.... Kraft Cheese $1.67 each, but I pulled a "$1.00 off 2" coupon from one of those little flashy coupon thingies and used it! So...my cheese was really $1.27 per bag.
Kellogg's Frosted mini wheats are $2.27 a box and I had a $1.50 off 2 boxes coupon- so I got them for $1.52 a box.
AND... Pantene Shampoo and Conditioners are $2.97 each. I had a save $3.00 on 2 coupon from the Sunday paper...so they ended up being B1G1 free. (or $1.50 each)
AND finally...(the best deal of all)
Dove deoderant was on sale for $2.56 and I found a coupon online for $2.00 off of 1 deoderant!! I got it for $0.56 each!! Wow!!
Those were the best deals that I found this week. The think about couponing that frustrates me is that you need to have patience. (Which I will admit - I do not have a lot of!!) It takes patience and time for me to look at the sale fliers each week and match them with coupons (or to search the internet for coupons that I need). It takes patience to wait until something goes on a great sale, where you can match your coupon and get an awesome deal (like the Dove!!)
But...it is really worth it in the end! And...there are some sites out there that help with all the "legwork" like Southern Savers. This site helps me find deals at Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, etc. Please check it out if you haven't already!!
**I am not claiming to be an expert when it come to couponing, just wanted to share the little knowledge that I have with others!! **
