It has been so hot here lately! I realize that it is hot everywhere- hello, it's summer- but it has been, like, "July/August hot" here for several weeks. According to the weather channel, it is actually hotter here in KY than it is where our families live (AL and FL). Of course...they have more humidity!!
Anyway....
To keep Lauren busy, we have been taking "walks."
(because she could care less if it is 10 or 100 degrees- she still wants to be outside!)
Since we are currently living in an apartment, there is no yard for her
to run around in anymore. :(
However...I found this within walking distance of our house ....
(it's literally around the corner!!)
Now, I'm not sure what a boys and girls club is, exactly. Maybe like a YMCA? Anyway, all I know is that at 6:00 everynight, everyone goes home.
And since they have one of these....
Lauren and I walk over there and totally trespass on this little playground in the evenings!
There are sometimes 1-2 other kids there with their parents (they live in the apartments as well). Mostly, it's just me and Lauren.
We go after supper and then walk back home before dark. It's so nice. I truly hope that we are not breaking any major laws by playing on this playground, but until someone tells me differently, we will be there!
Here is Lauren on the "balance beam." She doesn't want you to hold her hand anymore while she walks across it. My little Evel Knievel!
Yesterday, when the heat index was 106, I broke out the baby pool, purchased last summer on clearance for under $5.
Lauren was thrilled. She happily sat right in the inflatable hippo and proceded to splash!
I loved that she was in the shade most of the time
because of the huge hippo head... yay!
We got some of her bath toys and toys from her water table to play with in the pool.
She wanted to use these big plastic buttons
from my preschool teaching days.....
she lined them all up on the edge of the pool!
I was only sad that there wasn't enough room in there for me! :)
I'm not gonna lie, I put on shorts and stuck my feet in the water...it was so nice!
..she was sitting in the funniest position!
And hopefully ya'll don't think her bathing suit was too risque'. I thought it was fairly modest for a 2 piece, especially compared to some I've seen! (such as this.)
And 2 pieces just make for easier changing...Lauren gets all upset when I'm trying to pull a wet onepiece off her!

Wow, Sarah. My jaw dropped at that "two piece!" Yikes! I think her bathing suit is adorable! And I love that she lets you put bows and ponytails in her hair! Emma won't :( Adorable pictures!
Cute pictures. I think you are safe with the playground as long as there are no signs posted. I love her swimsuit and agree they are easier to change. I can't believe the ladybug suit and I love that there motto is "dressing kids like kids" I think not!
