Kelly has asked people to link up sharing their New Year's Resolutions for "Show Us Your Life" this week.
Ugh.
I hate the word "Resolution." Because I never end up keeping them! :)
So, I am posting my "Goals for 2010" instead of New Year's Resolutions!
You can't "break" a goal, right? Sounds good, anyway!
Also- I am very detail-oriented when I make "goals" or "to-do lists", so bear with me!
1) Read the WHOLE Bible in 2010
I am planning to use the Chronological Plan from www.ewordtoday.com/year
In the past I have just read through the Bible from front to back,
- but I think this will be more interesting-I can read the Bible like a story,
and I have also tried the NT/OT/Psalms/Proverbs approach,
in the order that the events took place.
2) Be more intentional with my time
- This means no playing around on facebook for 10-20 minutes, 2 times a day! :)
- Blogging is ok (for now) because it is a way to document our lives without all the time and mess of scrapbooking!
- I am going to try setting my alarm to get up BEFORE Lauren so I can have my quiet time and prepare for the day. Normally, I just sleep until I hear her on the monitor (and maybe a little longer if I can!)
- Plan activities for Lauren so she doesn't want to watch TV all the time!!
3)Be a better steward of our money.
- Make our new budget and try our best to keep it!
- Use coupons to save on groceries where I can
- Pay off Jason's truck this year and start putting that money towards the tahoe
- Put money into savings to buy a new house (can do more when we sell our home in TN)
4) I'm NOT going to say "Lose X amount of pounds" here....
I'm going to say "Be able to fit into my smaller clothes."
- This is gonna take eating better and exercising
- No more sodas..and I really need to cut back on sweets
- Since we are living in the Frozen Tundra, it's time to pull out the exercise DVD's and tapes while Lauren's napping.
- Water, water and more water! :)
- I will also try to cook healthier for our family...not as much "processed" foods- more fresh stuff!
5)Finish Lauren's "Babys's1st Year" Scrapbook
6)Write more letters and make more phone calls to family and friends...instead of emaling all the time!
7)Downsize our "stuff"
- This means clothes, shoes, etc that we don't need/use
- This includes things of mine, Jason's and Lauren's! "(Jason doesn't have that much stuff..but he does have some!)
- Sell it on Ebay, consignment, or pass on to other families or charity!
Well....that's all that I could think of. 7 Goals sounds pretty manageable! And 7 is a good number, right? Maybe sharing these goals with all of blog-land will make me more accountable.
We'll see!
