I really love Valentine's Day.
I know that there are people out there that are sorta against it.
They say that it's just a greating card holiday.
Or that we shouldn't have to set aside a day to celebrate those that we love.
But...my feeling is that it's similar to Christmas. We don't "need" a day to celebrate Jesus's birth, because we remember it all year long- Well, that's the same with Valentine's! I love Jason (and Lauren) all year long, but I'm fine with having a special day set aside to celebrate it! :)
Plus, I really love hearts, and the colors red and pink..so, Valentine's Day is fun to me!
Anyway... in preparation for Valentine's Day, Lauren and I headed to Hobby Lobby this afternoon and picked up a few things. And I have a "beef" with HobLob. Their Valentine section was only marked 40% off! Don't they know that Vday is only 2 days away? I feel like that stuff should be 50-60% off by now! :)
Back to the point...we bought a cute little Valentine banner to hang in the kitchen and also some silicone cupcake liners so we can make cupcakes this afternoon.
Then we went to Target and got our cake mix, sprinkles and a few other goodies.
the cupcake making supplies! :)
Wait a minute....how did THESE get in the cart??? I think Lauren must have wanted some pepto-bismol flavored candy with pictures of Twilight characters on them!
Jason is forever picking on me because I'm totally "Team Jacob" and the actor who plays Jacob (Taylor Lautner) is like 17 years old in real life. I tried to explain to Jason that I'm not all about Taylor per say...it's the character of Jacob that I love! :)
He doesn't get it, of course.
And for all you Edward fans out there...I think his pasty white face is on some of the individual bags as well.
And if you have no idea what I'm talking about (if you haven't read the books or seen the movies), sorry for the confusion!
Finally....here is a preview of Lauren's Valentine "card" pics. She wasn't really working with me on these.
First she sat in the box to read her book...
Then she decided to bounce on the ball and watch Dora.
I promise I did manage to get a few of her actually looking at me! I will post them (as well as updates on our 1st attempt at cupcake making) tomorrow!
Lauren and I are both feeling a little under the weather today, so I'm glad it's Friday and Jason will be home this weekend so I can get some rest. I wish mommys got sick days!

Twilight is the one instance where the movies are better than the books. I read the series for a class I took on YA literature, and I got tired of the repetitiveness of just how white Edward was.
I felt like a dirty old lady watching the latest movie. Jacob is definitely superior to Edward.
